djearl81 asked: My wife and I are buying a house. I’d like to know how the government determines the mortgage rate for the day. Last week I was told that the bond market was higher than expected, but it looks to have settled down this week. What are the factors that go into this complex number?

azkoolchik asked: My husband and I moved into a town home last Sept. and got our place inspected by an inspector last July. How we discovered this was we had a leak in our kitchen and right above it is the shower so we knew it coming from the show from the bathroom. We had a plummer come out to look at the problem and he cut the cieling in the kitchen and their was mold pretty much all over. We called our insector and he said to call our home insurance company and he had nothing to do with it. The plummer said the home insurance does not cover the mold because it was there before we purchase the town home. Who should we go after the home inspector? The people who sold us the town home? Any suggestions would help.
Should we get an attorney? If so what time of an attorney should we look for?

Just the Facts, Ma’am asked: I recently sold my home and am now renting my primary residence. I’m considering buying a rental property to help defer taxes. Someone recently told me that I shouldn’t because my income level ($200k+) disqualifies me from deducting the interest on the rental property. Is that true?

brokegradstudent22 asked: I am currently a grad student looking for housing close to my university. I found a place on a website advertising apartment listings. I met with the owner of the apartment and he’s renting out 1BR in his 2BR apartment.
Great Location. Great Price. Great apartment. Only one problem:
The apartment is section 8 housing and he said I must keep a low profile. Apparently you are not supposed to rent out section 8 housing to others. As a result, no one should know I’m living with him. Also meaning no guests.
Would you take this place? I am currently without a place to stay in the fall and this apartment meets all of my requirements. However, am I putting myself in legal danger by accepting this agreement?

Amanda P asked: I see many people saying to have a roommate to help with mortgage costs, and to qualify for a better mortgage. Or, buying a duplex, and renting out half of it. Does the buying have to qualify fully on their own? Or how does the bank take the future rental income into account?

M5 asked: We own 10 investments properties and have 10 mortgages (with Bank of America) on each one. The bank is saying that they can do only 10 mortgages per person. How or where can we go over that limit, with reasonable rates and closing cost.
Thanks for looking.
