Julie D asked: we live in michigan. we have had a very heavy rain nonstop for 3 days. water is now about an inch deep in our basement. my husband keeps cleaning it up but it keeps coming back. it is coming in from under the basment walls. what should we do? should we just keep vaccuming it up as it comes in or just wait until it stops coming in to slean it or what? i know we will have to get someone to come dry it out all the way, but i dont want to pay for them to do that just to have more water come in. please give me some advice what to do. i called the insurance company and they said we do not have flood insurance so nothing is covered. thanks

Matt asked: I currently rent a house from a couple and they are now getting divorsed. Both individuals have contacted me and told me to give only Him/Her the rent money from now on. How do I make sure that i don’t get screwed during this?
…I want to do this in the Cheapest way possible. I don’t want money to come out of my pocket (like paying for a lawyer).

Math Help Guy asked: I saw today that my local bank’s 30-year fixed mortgage rate is 5.375%. How much longer will they continue to decline, and how low will they go?
I realize that none of you have a crystal ball, but aren’t there companies out there that forcast this type of thing? What are they saying?

Thuy N asked: I want to reduce my taxable income and so I’m thinking of prepaying my gas, electric, water and garbage on my rental property and declaring these expenses on the Schedule E in the 2007 tax return? Allowed even though technically the charges haven’t accrued yet?
